Councillors to quiz PCC at Council meeting

Hyndburn Councillors will question the new Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner about his plans for policing, at next Thursday’s Council meeting at Accrington Town Hall.

Clive Grunshaw was elected to the new position of Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire in November last year. The Commissioner’s job is to ensure that the policing needs of Lancashire communities are met as effectively as possible and he represents the people of Lancashire on policing issues and the fight against crime.

Cllr Miles Parkinson, Council Leader, said; ‘We are pleased that the Police and Crime Commissioner is coming to Council and look forward to hearing the latest on police and crime issues.”

The session will take place during the full Council meeting and whilst members of the public won’t be able to put a question to the Commissioner directly, they can ask their local Councillor to put a question on their behalf.

Please submit written questions by 12 noon on Wednesday, 19th June, to Helen Gee, Member Services Manager, Scaitcliffe House, Ormerod Street, Accrington BB5 0PF helen.gee@hyndburnbc.gov.uk.

Full Council takes place at 7.00pm at Accrington Town Hall on Thursday 20th June and is open to the public. A full set of papers can be viewed here:
