Over 40 people including Councillors from across the North West and Accrington & Rossendale college students attended a ‘How Parliament Works’ event, at Accrington Town Hall on Friday 18th October.
Gary Hart, Parliament Outreach officer, gave a presentation about How Parliament Works at the event, which was about encouraging greater engagement between the public, the House of Commons and the House of Lords and widening knowledge of how parliament works and how to actively participate.
Councillor Miles Parkinson, Leader of Hyndburn Council, said; “We were really pleased to host this ‘How Parliament Works’ event which helped promote local democracy and raise awareness of the work, processes and relevance of Parliament to Hyndburn people.”
