EU Referendum: Hyndburn votes Leave

The borough of Hyndburn voted decisively to leave the European Union on 23rd June 2016 and the results can be broken down as follows:

Total number of voters:  40,168
Leave:  26,598
Remain:  13,569

The count took place at Accrington Town Hall and was attended by Labour Councillors Ken Moss, Bernard Dawson and Munsif Dad, Leader of the Council Miles Parkinson and Graham Jones MP.

31 ballot papers were rejected for the following reasons:

Voted for both:  13
Voter could be identified:  3
Unmarked or uncertain: 15
