Rishton: Parking issues resolved at Whitebirk

County Councillor Miles Parkinson has been contacted by managers at Electricity North West at Whitebirk ro request parking restrictions outside the entrance to their depot. Cllr Parkinson has been successful in lobbying Lancashire County Council and new lines will now be painted.

ENW employee, Kimberley Whitehead, said, "My bosses at work have spent 6 years fighting to get parking restrictions outside our depot entrance at Whitebirk. I contacted Miles as our County Councillor and progress has finally been made. I am delighted to say that the lines will be painted tomorrow."

She added, "People may think line painting isn't a big deal but to us it's been a daily battle and means that my road oil tanker drivers no longer have to spend time asking Greenbank police station staff to move their cars causing a back up of traffic and inconvenience to us. A big thank you from us at Electricity North West!"
