Rishton, Clayton-le-Moors and Altham County Councillor Miles Parkinson is once again standing to retain the seat he has held since 2009. Miles has been heavily involved with community groups during his time on the council and has also been a district councillor since the 1990s, eventually rising to become Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council in 2011 when Labour took power after nearly eleven years of local Conservative control.
