Dogs in hot cars

With the current spell of hot weather set to stay with Great Britain for some time, a campaign has been launched by Dogs Today Magazine to remind people not to leave their dogs in cars, even with the windows down. An experiment conducted recently saw temperatures inside a car with all four windows open rise from 29 to 50 degrees Celcius within half an hour.

Cllr Tim O'Kane, Chair of the Communities and Wellbeing Overview and Scrutiny Committee, is championing the campaign and urges people to look at the dedicated web page for details of exactly what happens in cars during hot weather:
