Several
complaints have been made to the Rishton Councillors regarding the
junction of Tottleworth Road and Hermitage Street. The road markings on a
small hatched area are now less defined and this occasionally leads to
cars parking there, making it hard for drivers coming out of Tottleworth
Road to see oncoming traffic.
Cllr Ken Moss said, "There have been a few near-misses recently and Tottleworth residents have told me that a mirror opposite the junction would be a massive help. LCC have knocked us back on this before now but I feel that it is time to ask again."
He added, "The situation isn't helped because some people have been told that the end of Tottleworth Road is private parking, which it isn't. Anyone can park there and it would alleviate the crowding on Hermitage Street. That area is also covered by private CCTV which I will ask the police to review if there are any problems."
