Milnshaw Councillor, Paul Cox, is to become the new Deputy Leader of HBC following the resignation of Cllr Joan Smith from the position. Paul is currently the Cabinet member responsible for Waste Services and will continue in the role.
Cllr Cox said, "This is a great honour for me and I am delighted to take on the role of Deputy Leader. Joan is a good friend of mine and we are all sad to see her leave the Cabinet but I am excited about taking over from her and am grateful that she has offered any help I might need over the first few weeks."
Paul will take over as Deputy Leader of HBC from 1st September 2014.
