A dog owner has been prosecuted in Minshaw for allowing his pet to foul in the cemetary.
Cllr Ken Moss, Cabinet Member for Parks & Cemeteries, said, “We take the issue of dog fouling seriously, dogs should be on a lead in cemeteries and we have prosecuted a dog owner who allowed their dog to foul in Dill Hall cemetery without picking up."
He added, "We will send the dog warden to do some targeted patrols, but we do need information and if this person or other people who witness this type of incident could get in touch with some details, for example the time of day and a car registration, this would help us to issue a fixed penalty notice to this or other irresponsible dog owners. We take a proactive approach to dog fouling, but we can’t have a dog warden everywhere. We will also make a £50 payment to residents who inform us of dog owners who allow their dogs to foul in cemeteries and other places which leads to the issue of a fixed penalty notice, or a successful prosecution, so please call us on 01254 388111 with any information."
