Barnfield: Balsam bashing session at Arden Hall

The Friends of Arden Hall held a 'balsam bashing' session earlier this month to rid the area of the invasive weed. Cllr June Harrison was joined by her colleague from Peel, Cllr Joyce Plummer, plus various volunteers including Paddy Short, Vincent Plummer, Dave Parkins and Alan Bolton.

Cllr Harrison said, "Once the balsam gets hold it just takes over. It is our intention do clear the area on a regular basis before the flowers go to seed."
