Milnshaw: Traffic problems recognised by LCC

Several residents  earlier this year made contact with their local labour Milnshaw Councillor, Paul Cox, who passed on their concerns to both Lancashire Constabulary and Lancashire County Council Highways department. Earlier this month the police undertook an operation on both Lancaster Ave & Thornyholme Road targeting those  individuals who still choose to disregard the safe driving speed.

Cllr Cox said, "The local community police team arranged for a the Community Road Watch Schems members to spend some time in these areas I had brought to their attention. The operation has led to several drivers being written too I believe .  I have  also received this letter, forwarded to me by County Councillor Clare Pritchard, about the steps LCC highways department are going to undertake to review the speed of traffic on these two stretches."

Paul added, "Since the introduction on the new 20mph zones both roads in Milnshaw have had several incidents involving traffic traveling too quickly along this perticluer section, maybe it’s time to look at another way of talking this problem. First step thought is to establish the amount and speed of traffic in this location. Hopefully this is a progressive step in helping resolve this problem."
