HBC: New road at Accrington Cemetery

A new road has been constructed at Accrington cemetery to open up a new burial area and
provide an additional exit for people to use.

The Church of England burial area located next to the cemetery office in Accrington
Cemetery was getting full. To allow burials to continue in that part of the cemetery a new
road has been built which will allow burials in that area for many years to come. The new
road cuts across the cemetery from the entrance drive to the exit drive and means families
have much better access to the graveside without the previous parking issues.

Cabinet member for Cemeteries, Cllr Ken Moss, said, "The new road provides another exit for cars leaving the cemetery and crematorium on very busy days to make things easier for families. In addition the exit drive has been resurfaced to ensure the cemetery continues to be well maintained."
