Lancashire County Council have just announced new contracts across Lancashire to provide new services for obesity prevention, opportunities for
physical activity, weight management focussing on dietary change and
behavioural components.
County Councillor Azhar Ali, Cabinet Member for Health & Wellbeing, said "I have approved new 3 year contracts across Lancashire for an 'Active Lives and Healthy Weight Service' commencing on the 1st April 2016. The new service will also maximise the use of digital technology to enable mass participation."
Cabinet member for Leisure, Cllr Ken Moss, said, "This will mean extra funding for Hyndburn to the tune of £185,373 per year, giving us a total contract of £556,119. It will be good for residents and go a long way to easing our budgetary concerns regarding leisure."
