Barnfield: Waste land transformed into year-round garden

Several areas of waste ground on Plantation Street have been tended to by Cllr June Harrison and her neighbours and now provide all-year-round displays of greenery which were previously overgrown and unkempt.

Cllr Harrison said, "Me and my neighbour look after this waste land as it used to look a bit unsightly. We start with the spring flowers and continue through until late autumn. It puts a smile on a lot of people's faces as they pass by and some even take photos! It's hard work with everything else I do but its worth it when you get a continuation of colour throughout the year."
