Cllr Paul Cox, the Labour representative for Milnshaw, has been out in the area following up several complaints from residents concerning dog fouling.
Cllr Cox said, "At the last Church & Milnshaw Community Group meeting a couple of residents had commented on certain areas that had a high level of dog fouling. During my weekly walkabout of the ward I had a look at these areas. All the information I collected was passed on to our new Dog Enforcement team. Hyndburn Residents should be aware that information on persistent dog fouling offenders is treated in the strictest confidence."
However as Jane Grady, Hyndburn Dog Warden, states, "Intelligence from the local community is vital in catching these offenders. Any information passed on wil help us in this process."
Cllr Cox added, "Unfortunately it’s just the same few that refuse to pick up after their dogs. On the whole we have a great dog walking community who always pick up after their pets but Hyndburn is a large area to cover, any information about this certain small group of individuals would go along way in helping prevent this."
Anybody with any infomation relating to dog fouling should either contact Cllr Paul Cox (see contacts page) or Hyndburn Borough Council direct on 01254 388111
