Following a community group meeting at Banbury Close in Accrington
earlier this week, Cllr Paul Cox was informed that several residents
had noticed a damaged lamp post located on the Milnshaw estate. Cllr Cox
viewed the streetlight and immediately contacted both the Lancashire County
Council Highways team and the local Police.
Milnshaw Labour Councillor, Paul Cox, said, "Attending these local meetings in the ward allows me to pick up on resident issues and concerns, for example this street light. I had a look and realised that this was a serious issue and potential a danger to the public and highway."
Cllr Cox has now reported this incident with LCC log no 81759
Cllr Cox added, "If any resident has any other concerns I would urge them to contact me immediately via phone, text, email or Twitter or alternatively go along to one of the drop in sessions held monthly around the estate."
