New CG images of Accrington Bus Station

Work on the new bus station in Accrington as part of the Pennine Reach scheme has started and new images have been released showing how the finished building will look.

The station is part of a wider project to link townships together across East Lancashire through bus and rail networks and includes new terminuses at Accrington and Blackburn, plus upgrading of bus stops and the creation of electronic bus lanes which give public transport priority at traffic lights.

The scheme is expected to be fully completed by 2017.
