Central 2015: Labour hold

Cllr Mohammed Ayub has won the Central local election and secured another term as one of the two ward Councillors. The count took place in the newly-refurbished Town Hall at 11.00am on 8th May 2015 and Ayub will now hold his position until 2019.

The results were as follows:

• Mohammed Ayub (Labour) - 1,563
• Mohammad Saleem (Conservative) - 516
• Christopher Matthew (UKIP) - 224
• Afzal Aqeel (Independent) - 45 

The total percentage of voters who turned out in Central was 63.65%.
