As can be seen in the picture, works have now started on erecting the steelwork required for the station building. This element of the works began on Monday 10th August and is expected to take three weeks, at which point the steel frame of the building will be in place.
The steelwork visible in the picture is the steel required for the internal structure of the building where the ancillary accommodation for the bus station will be located. The outline of the outer edge of the building is visible on the ground, the steelwork for the external walls will be the next element to be put in place along this outline.
Works on the retaining walls at the edge of the site are progressing well, particularly on the Eastern edge of the site (to the left side of the picture).
