Local people have a final chance to have their say about how the
canalside area in Rishton may develop over the next 15-20 years.
Residents, local businesses and community groups are being asked to
comment on the draft Rishton Canalside Supplementary Planning Document
(SPD) before it is adopted.
The Rishton Canalside SPD is an important planning document that will be used to assist in the decision making process for planning applications. The SPD provides a vision for the future sustainable development of the area, alongside site specific development guidance on five key sites. The draft SPD has been developed following two previous consultation events held earlier this year.
SPDs accompany the Local Plan for Hyndburn and are intended to build upon, and add, an extra layer of detail on specific policies. The Local Plan for Hyndburn currently sets out the development policy framework in the Borough up to 2026.
The draft SPD will be available to view in the Rishton Library, Hyndburn Borough Council Offices (Scaitcliffe House), and online (www.hyndburnbc.gov.uk/rishtonspd) from Friday 14th August for a period of 4 weeks. For further information please contact the Planning Office on 01254 388111.
Please email comments on the draft SPD via email to planning@hyndburnbc.gov.uk or in writing to Plans and Environment, Scaitcliffe House, Ormerod Street, Accrington, BB5 0PF no later than 5pm on Friday 11th September 2015.
